Beater board

Postby STEVENSURF12 » Tue Aug 26, 2014 2:52 pm

I am just wondering what everyone thinks of the so called beater board by catch surf. Is it good or not?

Those boards aren't "real" surfboards and thus I wouldn't say they could be considered good or bad. They're foam boards but not the type used by surf schools for beginners. They're basically large boogie boards meant to be surfed and messed around on in shore dump. I think they come without or without fins. They're pretty tough to ride.

I've seen them ridden a lot at maroubra when its dumping. We're not talking about a foot of water flopping onto the beach, but an overhead mutant monster slamming down onto the beach
Snapped board city. Or a beater board.

The guys that were riding them were pretty good - not much point unless you can take an ultra-late drop (and don't mind being slammed into the sand every now and then).
You'll probably find me surfing, but if not, I'll probably be in the photography studio
