Fell flat on the water

Postby BaNZ » Sun Feb 09, 2014 3:07 pm

Never knew how painful it is. I hit it so hard that I bounced off the water. Last week I landed on my shoulder and this week I landed on my nuts... Yes my ball sack. It was so bad that I was dreading to take off the wetsuit. I was so scared that it exploded. Luckily I only got this protruding lump.... Doesn't look like there is internal bleeding so will give it another day to see if it will go away.

I've been taking bigger risk now as I feel more confident taking off closer to the lip on bigger waves. This week I've sustained many bruises from tumbling into the trough of the wave.

Hopefully that isn't a hernia. I get bounced around quite a bit sometimes but almost never suffer injuries and certainly not to the family jewels.
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

That sounds pretty painful, I'd get that checked on in a few days if it still seems pretty bad. How big are these waves that are beating you up?

Here is a little blurb on scrotal hernias http://www.wikihow.com/Recognize-a-Scrotal-Hernia

Wave wasn't big but it was thick and powerful. I think it was the speed, I was going pretty quick when I fell off so I bounced off the water when I fell.

Lump has gone away, only slight pain left so I probably don't need to worry that much.

I never get bruises or any injury from contact with the water. My injuries are mostly from over extending my feeble old man body or from other surfers boards. That is cool you are going so fast you skip but it's still only water. Hopefully this will just be a minor thing.
