Whether or not it's 80ft or the biggest wave ever ridden, it's still massive.

I like how they point out he is a plumber. Some of these big wave guys have to work for a living and do this just for the thrill.
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

Unblock u-bend, fix leaky tap, ride 80ft wave, unblock pipe... usual kinda day.
You'll probably find me surfing, but if not, I'll probably be in the photography studio

One of the big wave surfers says its more like snowboarding down a bumpy hill than surfing - basically you get towed in and just head down and try not to fall.

Not that I'm going anywhere near a wave that is double figures in height. Or even close to it.
