Well after last weekend and close outs in every direction I stayed dry for nearly a week...
My concious mind planned an early on Thursday but I had a lot of work stuff and it just didnt work out...Funny, because my body woke up at 5am primed to go,,,,,,
I figured, just be patient, early Saturday is good cos I can relax...
6.20 am hit the water, a small crew up the beach and me on my own with just a hint of a small peak,,,,and how good it is to have a small peak just to oneself,,,,a nother fella come along and we even had a chat and shared this little space and moment of surf,,,,
Got out by 7.40, another fella with a longish board like me had a chat...I said I reckon you will get a few waves and we pointed out these tiniest hints of a rideable wave...
he headed out, and bang, within minutes he was coasting along and there it is,,,,
It is a crowded planet at times, but its like all those years ago when my closest surfing mate, now deceased and me, use to just head out early morning just trying to pick it by the weather,
and finding the joy of small clean waves on countless occasions...
Must admit though, there is nothing like telephone apps as that just helps save a little more petrol and increases the chances that one can pick the mark...
Bigger waves forecast for Sydney from Monday and I will leave all that to the short board crew,
but for me, I am having a great day for one reason alone, I went surfing, and better than that caught some fun liitle waves on a morning sunrise,,,,
Just one other thing,
How good is all the training advice on the web these days....
I spent just over one week working on 4 specific exercises and today ot was like, wow, how good does that feel....So thanks to all the dedicated trainers out there,,,
I am 55, still into it, not as gungo ho these days...and by no means a big wave slash and burner, but nothing like a great peak, a good take off, and just finding the pocket,,,love it!!
