Lets hear some of our funniest wipeouts....
I'd say mine was one a 8 foot wave, i was just cruising donw the line (to inexpeirenced to do anyhting else) and then i noticed my nose going into the water... and in slow motion in went deeper and deeper, spray was going everywhere. Then i fliped over the nose when my board had stoped, But as i was going towards the water, i looked back and i saw a little tiny wave, at the base of the big one, that my board went into. And the funny thing about it was, it happened in slow motion, and the only thing i can remember doing was just looking back in puzzlement at the wave, as i was falling; my arms and legs didnt move at all until i was underwater. Then as i came up there was this begginner laughing at me, i guess cuz of the look on my face or something... i just laughed with him.

I think that my worst was this itty bitty 4 or 5 foot wave. I had just stood up, and was riding it in. This bigger wave from behind crashed right into me and knocked me off my board. After a couple seconds I surface to the top of the water, and here comes my board. I got cracked right in the lip! So much for staying alert huh?

mine probally was when I tried using my warm water wax in cold water. This was the extra super tropical thats rated like 85+, used in like 68 degree water. I was paddling for a wave, and then I started sliding foward on my board when the wave started picking me up, I realised this then grabbed the rails to push up and back, but my hands slid off and I kinda plopped back down, then put my hands flat on the board and got up. After that when I was going for a bottom turn it was like a head high wave, and my board just kinda slipped out, like sideways under me, or I slipped off it because I was really leaning into it, but when I came out I just kinda plopped face first into the wave, and my board shot up in the air.
The moral of this story is to use the proper wax.

My funniest wipeout happend last time I went. I caught a nice little beach break and jumped to my feet. Straight away the board shot out from under my feet and I fell into the the water. Only I was body surfing, facing the sky with my head hurtling towards the beach and my board next to me. Then my board ended upside down with me lying on top of it on my back still surfing along!!!!! Ended up being dumped on the beach laughing my head off

Must have looked like a great trick to the untrained eye!

not really funny for me, but i got sucked over the falls on a wave about 5 foot, i fell first then my board hit me tail-first in the face. Then it got sucked over again and again, and each time it would reach the end of the leg rope it acted like an elastic band and came back hitting me again and again.
Im sure it looked funny for people watching

I was on a wave with my longboard and this is at waikiki. so theres guys on the both sides of me riding the wave so i had to go straight because they were also going straight but i wanted to ride left. I wanted to get off the wave by popping the board up and grabbing it to avoid banging into this japanese tourist that came into my view 20 ft in front of me. (i wear contacts but i cant wear them to the beach so im a bit blind when i surf). when i was trying to get off the wave i walked too far back on the board too quickly and I actually ended up like flinging the board straight forewards like 10 ft in straight front of me instead of popping it up and grabbing it. I hit the japanese tourist straight in his face and he got really mad but was okay after ward. good thing i couldnt understand what he was saying but i think he understood sorry. after that i told myself im not going to catch a wave with more than one of two people on it because sometimes I see waves with eight people on and even canoes on the wave.
The other time I was at waikiki again. I was on a small wave and i lost my balance and then I fell on my butt and onto my back but i was still on the board riding the wave but my longboard was really pointed high in the air because i was so far back on the board and i was lying there like a flipped over cockaroach with my arms and feet wiggling in the air and i didnt know how to steer the board or where i was going because the front of the board was blocking my view straight ahead and there was spray everywhere. i rode that wave pretty long but i was really nervous because i thought that i would hit someone but i didnt. i think the wave started to die and then the back of the board sank in the water and i leaned back and kinda did a backwards roll into the water from the roach position and then that made the tail of the board sink into the water then it flew straight up out into the air and it landed vertically but i didnt get hit by it. good thing no one was around. everyone was looking at me wierdly after that especially the tourists. that was the wierdest ride of my life i think and i can imagine how hilarious i must have been!

duhkine, you have me in stitches
Not funny for yer man but I'd the longboard out on a small day and this young lad dropped in on me and instead of going right, he kept on going straight. I hopped off the board and it shot into the air walloping him across the head. -He won't be doing that again.
Another day I was just walking out with the board in waist high water when this freak wave came and silly me thinks she can hop over it, it flipped me around backwards, still hanging onto the board I managed to whack my head off the sea bed and twist my back sideways. I was nearly seeing stars when I resurfaced.

One time I went out longboarding and I caught a nice wave but unfortunately I'd forgotten to put wax on just before, so I stood up, rode the wave for about 2m and then my feet slipped from underneath me and I fell sideways onto my board, smashing my hip in. When I looked back out where all the other longboarders were, they were all cracking up laughing at me. I was so humiliated!

it was one of those stormy horrible days at saunton so i was just muckin about in the shallows, where the waves were actually still quite big just with less water, which scared the hell outa me, anyway, i caught one and was all crouching down and then a bigger wave came up behind it and just rolled me over, i was holding on to the board with my hands and then it grabbed the board but i held on and ended up upside down, so i ended up underwater and i opened my eyes, thank god, and saw a yellow shape above me, i somehow managed to stick my hands out and catch my board before it hit me in the face. my dad couldnt stop laughing.
