Surfing Waves

18 days until i get to surf again.. been weeks since i got in the waves.. can't wait, 2 weeks solid surfing:-)

may the waves be plentiful for you, Dead_One.

Hope you get some really good waves after your lull. Sometimes after not surfing for awhile you appreciate surfing even more!

hopefully, i know the first 2-3 days will be embarrassing, but hopefully will get back into it quickly only problem is persuading the kids to play on the beach for 8 hours a day. either that or get them into surfing..dunno if they are a little young, 5,7, 9.. if not i guess it is going to get expensive:-)

Forget the expense , it will so rewarding if they catch the surfing bug from you.
Be aware and gentle and excited all of them are at an age where a little happy time in the surf goes a long way! Make it fun nothing else! One more thing let them choose to join you, don't make them do it!

Where abouts are you off to mate?

will be mainly just outside newquay. They are all saying they want to try, so should be fun, even the wife has agreed to give it a go.. as long as it doesn't get too cold. Youngest tried once before, but april in the uk isnt fun for a 5 year old (even though shes crazy and will try anything...) 2 winter suits and 2 rash vests, she was still cold... hopefully water will be 10+ degrees this time:-)
will give it a go, see how they get on. Will be nice to get some time with the 3 little ones, especially if they enjoy it. Eldest is already hooked, shes more keen than me to be back in.. shame shes in Switzerland for the first 10 days of the holiday. Cant beleive how excitable im getting about it.. im like a little kid at xmas:-) and im hopefully picking up a board while im down there, if i can find something good, my first board, and 14 surfs:-)

new update... talked the wife into going down early.. so 9 more sleeps until i get back to surfland...... and 16 days there instead of 14

Yaaay...I love leaving early on my trips too. Well after you get some great waves and get out there in the salt water you may want to change your user name to the Alive_one.

Well, update on this....just back and had a great time, even though we had a few flat days in the middle. all the kids love surfing now.. although not sure how much of that is down to the fact they enjoyed the surfing, or how much of it was just getting carried away by the enthusiasm of the instructors they had, got to say kingsurf in mawgan porth must farm enthusiastic people... no matter what happens, everything is awesome and perfect for your stage of learning, kids cant wait to go back:-)
I managed a few good waves as well, although failed to buy a board:-(

its pretty good down here at the moment, although the tail end of the hurricane is still about, so pretty high winds. Some of the beaches were red flagged yesterday due to wind.

forgot to say, have been living down in Cornwall for a couple of weeks now, and loving it, been in the water every day so far, and can def. see an improvement in my surfing:-)

We're here!! Van is all setup. Awning is out. About to head down to the beach for the first surf of the week.
