Q1: What date did you catch your first wave in 2013?
Q2: Where?
Q3: Wave height?
Q4: What board?

I'd hoped to catch my first 2013 wave this morning, but there was nothing to ride in Santa Barbara county at sun up. So, my new dog and I simply had a long walk along the beach at the Devereux break (photos). It was a beautiful morning.

Rubbish, gutless, close-out conditions at maroubra this morning, but there was a big group of us out and everyone saw me get the wave of the day... all 2ft of it

Right-O! We've got some "firsts surfs" and a photo, too.
Still nothing in Santa Barbara.
If fact, this weekend's Rincon Classic surf meet has been postponed pending better surf.

Just got back from two days of surfing overhead surf at baja. We did two days and two sessions per day, and most of the time we where alone or with 2 other surfers. Fun stuff. My bud took some vide, haven't seen it yet.

Went out early this morning looking for surf. Still haven't found waves in Santa Barbara. But, I did get a pretty picture at Ledbetter break at 07:10.

m' teacher - bet it was great! Eat any fish tacos? Wife and I used to travel deep into Mexico in the late 1980's and early 1990's. Was wonderful then.

Mine was on Friday on my Cortez 6'4" quad fish. Initially at a very messy Hell's Mouth (North Wales) but then got some nice clean waves at Porth Oer (again, North Wales), even if they were about 3ft at best with some very very very long periods of bobbing around between sets!

At least it's a good start to my new years resolution of getting out in the water more

Finally most of the Christmas holiday makers have gone home a few linger until Australia Day 26thjanuary.Today a small easterly swell pushed through on the low tide bank. I t was exceedingly hollow and sand dredgey. I pushed myself as deep as I could possibly go on a long board. Got smashed and sand filled on many waves but made some surprisingly good barrels.

Surf has been terrible for the Aust east coast! Constant winds and no swell.

Good news from gordz, Jaffa, and surfgoth!
My situation remains similar to dtc's.
Even the Rincon Classic has been put off pending something that can be ridden.

gordz, check out the Channel Island Motor Boat too. More rocker than fish and concave tail. This is a very exciting new board.
