Those of us in Australia, particularly the East coast, may be interested in seeing the movie Storm Surfers it makes its way down the East coast with one night only showings in various places, some attended by the stars of the film (being Tom Carroll and Ross Clarke-Jones).

Here is a review of the film

Sounds quite removed from the usual airs and cutbacks pumping sound track movie that is all too common nowdays (actually as the quote in the review says ''We struggle to watch them [surf movies],'' McMillan[the director] says. ''A lot of it has to do with the repetitive nature of wave after wave, rocking music track, zero story, locations that are pretty inaccessible to most people, and moves that are aspirational but pretty much inaccessible. We wanted to flip that on its head.'')
I'm not a big fan of surf films in general, for the reasons quoted, but thought I would give this one a post because it looks much more interesting (have bought a ticket; have no links to the film in any way. I do own some of Tom's brother's books, by way of full disclosure!).
Even if you aren’t in the right location, check out the promo pic (a wave off Tasmania)!
