Speedos as beach and pool attire

Before I pack for my Christmas break trip south, I'd like to find out what people around my age (19) think of Speedos. I'm of average physique, not overweight, and NOT gay. Are girls generally uncomfortable around guys with Speedos because they're afraid of arousing them? Are guys afraid of them because of the attention (even if one is fit)? Also, are there any surfers in Speedos?

Are you German?
If not - no Speedos. Out of the question.
The Budgie Hammock is left only to the well moustached, middle aged Germanic types.

Full stop.

End of discussion.

No offense brah, but with all due respect, you'd be laughed off our beaches in speedos.

Im a lifeguard at Bondi Beach, Australia, and we have to wear speedos :(

Seriously, if your brave enough, speedos are good because you get a tan and you no longer have glow-in-the-dark thighs! No girl likes seeing half a pair of legs floating around infront of them while in the bedroom!! HAHA

Nah jks... dont wear em....

  Wicked

... some pro' swimmers etc will always wear speedos , some for the all over tan , some for the ' advertising ' feature of speedos and some simply for the non'drag effect of tight swim wear .....

" BUT DAMN " ..... you have got to be ready for the pisstaking that will commence as soon as you hit a beach ! ! ... especially if your over 40yrs old with a pot belly ! ..hmmm yummy .. " looking good there pops "

all i can say is .... " if you've got the balls' then wear them :P

peace all ...cheeZee 8)

Yea the springer tan sucks when wearing them. Everyone else on my team is just evenly white so they got nothing to worry about.

I swam competitively up through College, but practice and meets were the only times I wore one. I do wear one under my wetsuit, but that's it. I'm not afraid to wear one, but for me, it's clothing meant for competitive swimming not sunbathing. That's what shorts are for.
