Beginner Surfing Mexico

Hi. A friend and I are wanting to head to Mexico in March for a few weeks. We would like to go somewhere we there are not millions of people and where we can learn to surf. I have not been to Mexico so know very little about the layout and cities. Can anyone help with some ideas? We are not that interested in spending our whole time on an organised surf camp. Cheers
