Vintage Board. How can I find if its worth anything?

I found a board in the dumpster. The girl who was moving that put it there said its worth $1500 (obviously she was rich and quite lame for throwing other good stuff away w/o giving it away to goodwill or something).

anyway, how can I find out if the board is worth what she said? I'm in San Diego, should I just take it to a surf shop?

apparently it is called a "Dollar Board" from Hobie, but thats all I know. Anybody know about these?

Thanks - Mr. Anderson

Its extremely unlikely the board is worth $1500 even if it was new. The only boards I've heard of that may cost as much were made from Bolser(sp?) Wood by some hippy sounding guy in Hawaii. They looked like they were made out of wood, you could see the grain and the guy kept saying it looked like the cosmos or something.
How long is the board, how many fins, what shape are the nose and tail, is there any writing/stickers on it, if you look closely on the underneath can you see any pencil writing on or near the bit of wood going from nose to tail, what colour is it and can you see any damage on it?
