Surfing Waves

Hey guys,

I'm currently studying at college and I have a project to photo document a sub-culture.
I would love to use Surfing Culture for my topic and I am looking for some volunteers.

I'm studying in Brisbane QLD and want to find surfers in either the Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast.

I'm ideally looking people who would be willing to let me into their surfing lives for a day or so.
I need to take photos and some short video of anything surf culture related, including the sport, the lifestyle and elements.

Hey SIKES, why don't you head down to the beach either of those areas and try approaching people who fit the criteria you have in your head, you will be on site and be able to take photos and videos.

There's a wide spread on this forum from all over the world but nothing beats a face to face interview on the beach.

Oh and if you are working through this site I have deleted your email address and phone number and asked respondents to use the PM facility.

Can you acually use the PM facility when you've made just one post?
I've got a feeling you can't (can you SP? I can't remember for sure) and it is a good way to weed out the one-post wonders.

I think old hands can PM to the beginning posters but they can't PM back until that is granted by SP.

Giving a phone and email address upfront is asking to be buried in spam.

Off Topic: I think I changed the PM block on new members yesterday, but didn't test it out yet.
