here in new england i wear booties most of the time anyways, even when the water is warm-ish. i didn't wear em once and smashed up my foot pretty good and couldn't surf for a couple weeks, so i figured i would start sacrificing the nice feel of the surfboard under my feet for wearing the booties and not having to miss surfing.

i have a pair of split toe though, and they really dont hinder me at all in the water, although they are a pain to take on and off.

K mac - no I don't think you have anything to be concerned about. Some people's feet get colder quicker than others, something to with better or worse circulation. My feet tend to get colder than most but if the rest of me is really warm then my feet stay warm.

Yo man,

I surf in florida and once the late winter hits, booties are great. I have a pair of Quicksilver booties with a split toe on the inside of bootie. They have been awesome. It might not get as cold as new england, but the water still drops to 58 degrees down here.

Anyways,
