Why do you like to Surf?

Is it because it makes you feel great?

Is it because it's "cool" and you want to get the chicks?

Is it because all your friends are doing it?

Is it because you rather not go to the gym?

Is it because you are an adrenaline junky?

Is it because it can be more of a spiritual sport ("one with nature")?

What are the reasons you surf?

Because if anyone tries to come out in the surf with a formal or informal survey, the paper gets soggy, the ink runs the font dribble and the pen doesn't work.

Socalsurfing you need to get out in the water more and find out that the answers are experiential and out there.

Many reasons...

I guess the main one is that I've never found a sport that felt so connected with. I love just being there in the ocean, waiting for the waves... And that felling when you are going down the wave... that's priceless.

I do go to the gym, so this is not really a reason. As for the friends thing, I guess it helps that some of my friends are also surfing there with me, everything gets funner with our friends. And about the chicks... it's not a reason I like to surf, it's more like a bonus

As Occy says "Only a surfer knows the feeling." It is hard to describe. I also love being out there, and the feeling of my board sliding down the face of a glassy wave. I guess I started because It looked so fun.

I don’t know. It feels good and can be mellow or savage; me and either or or.

naaa, its because its the only sport where the obligatory nasal drain really does clean out the insides

Yeah, I like surfing next to the pier so that women can throw their underware at me in the lineup...

Nasal drain doesn't affect me anymore, not since I saw this:

Criekies . . . my sinuses were blocked for days once . . . then in school in a lesson (Chemistry it was) my nose just dumped buckets of sea water all over my books – me and they were bloody drenched!

My teacher was (for once in his life) speechless!
