Ok heres a classic that usually gets some funny answers... add what ever you feel is relavant to "You know you need a surf when..."

heres a few to get you started...

You know you need a surf when...

...your car doesn't have and sand in the footwells.
...your wetsuit is dry and smells nice.
...you come back from the cinema wondering if Tracy Island would pick up any swell.

You start looking at embankments on the sides of motorways and imagining they're waves!

You splash through puddles in your car to throw up a spray!!

You find yourself logged on to surfing-waves.com for more than 80% of your day when you should be working!!

Haha, so true. My hair actually looks normal for a few days unlike the mess that it usually is (ie. now - good surf earlier!)

-When your watching programmes like Home & Away and constantly scanning the waves in the background and muttering 'get out of the way' when any of them are blocking your view of the waves.

-When you find yourself cranky and irritable for days and don't know why.

-When you go out in small mush just for the sake of it.

Good post.

When you scan the weather reports for every place you have lived to see if you'd be getting a surf if you hadnt moved.
When you go to clean the wax of your board in ritual preparation and it is already clean.
When the closest you've been to surfing lately is doing another beginners guide.

when your teacher is always yelling at you for doodling when you should be working, why do the do that, how can they expect me to work when he surfs good (even if it is 200 miles away)

when you spend about 4 hours a night on webcams and reports for everywhere in the world just to see iff anyones getting surf.

LOL! Always a good one for a laugh!

Also, when your boards wax looks suprisingly new and unused, and is actually bumpy, and worn down to smoothness, due to no sessions and a lotta rewaxing in between.

when the first thing you do in the morning is check the surf forcast and look at the webcams

when its raining the ripples on the puddles make you think of nice clean waves rolling in

HELL YEA!

I do that at the pool every day... when I have to swim I watch the ripples break over the edge just thinking about it... or creating my own

You check the sea every half hour when there's no swell predicted.

You start cross stepping on the kerb & noseriding scaffolding planks. :)
