Surfing Waves

Caught a wave last week and as I popped up both feet slipped straight out from under me resulting in me sliding down the front of a nice little 4footer flat on my back on the board with both feet sticking up in the air thinking this is going to hurt . Luckily I managed to roll off into the face of the wave and escape without injury except to my ego . Cause - being in a mad rush for a quick surf on the way to work so no wax applied . Result - the most embarrassing wipe out I can remember .

I was thinking some of you people must have had some good ones over the years be interested to here if you can beat mine .

For me it must be a wave where in the pop-up my left foot slipped, I fell onto my side on the board but managed to cling on. I ended up doing a barrel roll within the white water before being spat out the front, bedraggled, before ungracefully heaving myself up the second time and riding the whitewater like a kook for a few seconds.

In my defence, it was a dumpy beachbreak.

Hhhmm in order to have an embarrassing wipeout, it requires me to catch a wave.... Haven't done that yet except the white water.... I guess that's embarrassing enough.

Kelly sorry to hear you broke your penis off mate . Must be tough without it , must admit mine is one of my favorite possessions . The rest of your blog lost me a bit must be because I'm Tasmanian .
Ricky when you look back don't you wish you had recorded the event . It's one of those times I wish I had a camera on board . At the time it wasn't so funny but looking back it would have been a crack up to watch .
IminCa we have all been there , luckily for some of us when we were kids . I am only a very average surfer ( I suck according to the kids ) . No radical cutbacks or aerials for me .But to me it is all about having fun and the more you do it the better you will get and the more fun it becomes .

I had an embarrasing wipeout at the end of a really enjoyable session. I was on my way in and caught a little wave on inside, just to ride into the beach. It can't have been much more than knee high. Somehow my front foot slipped off and I fell totally off balance, taking the rail of my board in the face. I ended up with a big fat lip falling on the smallest wave of the day.

I don't know if my wipe out was all that embarrasing, I like to think of it being pretty sweet. My Leash had somehow wrapped around my board while I was out and in the process of catching a wave I did my pop up and the pop up cause the leash to be too tight and it pushed the board causing it to flip over, I of course also fell. I fell sitting down on the underside of my surfboard, rode it for a few seconds until I realized I
could have lost my butt virginity to my fins.

i had one last october...
we were out in the surf of about 4 - 6 ft on a wonderfull and calm dawn patrol.. the waves were perfect: glassy, almost no wind, smothly rolling in in propper sets..
so i was realy stoked and didnt take the usual time to sit out and chose my waves.. just took the first one that came along..
started paddling in but was bad positioned so i soon saw, i am not gonna make it.. so stopped padling and wanted to get out of the wave.. just when it was about to pass me, it must hit some bigger underwater rock which jerked the wave up and me along with it.. i fell off the board but could just about hang on to it.. the white water started to drag the board along and me with it (like T-shaped the board up front dragging me behind) so i was riding this wave mainly on my balls, which hurt, but was funny, still... so in the most ridiculous way i pass by all the guys sitting in the line up and all are laughing their asses off.. which isnt so bad, cuz i do to...
so just by the line up the reform starts to build, throws me over the falls and face plants me right in front of everybody...
ppl laughed so hard, some fell of their boards.. i had nothing but a very mangled grin left...

I tried to ride 2 board at once one under each foot the boards slid out from under me and I did the splits
