East coast usa surfboards and y quad

Hey,
I'm looking for a new surfboard. I ride on the East Coast (USA) in NC and need something that will catch mushy waves well, but also be able to handle bigger hollow surf that we get occasionally. I've been looking at a ...Lost RNF, and tried one in 5'8. I am 5'8 and 120 lb., so it's a little bit too much board for me. Are there any other boards that I should look at? Also, I need to be able to duckdive it...Any suggestions?

Also: I'm looking at getting my dad a catch surf y quad for Xmas. He's about 5'10 and weighs (I'm guessing) 165. What size should I get him-5'6 or 6'0? He is a beginner/intermediate.Thanks!
