when to change suit in UK?

Hey guys, it's been so long since my last surf trip, so planning on getting down next monday/tuesday to Boscombe.

I guess you have to take into account sea temp, air temp & wind chill

So is it now too cold to wear a 3/2, and if so when do you guys typically start wearing 5/3 and then add with hoods & boots?

Really dont want to look like a twat getting in and out in less than 10mins!

The sea is still warm in boscombe. Was out last weekend 4 hours summer suit. Usually change over once we start getting regular frosts and that hasn't happened yet.

The water maybe warm but that wind is a right chiller ... better to be to warm rather than too cold ...

Wuss it was blowing northerly winds at 20knots during my last kitesurf. Still not cold.

RideH2O, dude!
You change suits when your body tells you that you are regularly too hot or too cold. I wear a 3/2 year round in Santa Barbara, CA, but most locals wear a 4/3 most of the year. If you are warm enough, continue with your suit. No one will think you are a *wat; rather they will think you are tough.

After a bit of a cool (water) spell so far this year, Im back in a 2mm shortie, and now wondering when it'll be warm enough for boardies - only a few more weeks

Oh, how I miss the UK south coast

I'm the opposite to you Billie, if most people are in a 4/3, I'll be in a 5/3 (still shivering)

So sorry, Surf Patrol. However, shivering or not, you'd out-surf me anytime and anywhere.

Just wanted to let you know, i wore my 3/2 and was really warm, but my feet did feel it a bit...very itchy in the warm shower....oops!

I'm so happy though, it was pretty slow waves/swell and i found it very hard to catch them i only picked one up and rode for for what felt like forever it made the whole day worth it!

A 3/2 in november is good going - let's hope it lasts.
