Reasonably warm/affordable places to surf this time of year?

Hello all,

Just found this forum. Looking forward to becoming a part of the community.

I've got the itch to surf. It's been a few years and I really want to get back into it. I live in Colorado but I'm not opposed to flying somewhere close (regionally). I'm thinking LA, Costa Rica, South America...

I'm open to suggestions. Where's warm this time of year with good surf for a beginner?

Hi ZackShapiro, welcome to Surfing Waves.
Costa Rica's a good choice. It's just coming to the end of the rainy season. It will be nice and warm, and there will be swell about. It's also relatively cheap.

Yeah Central America is a great choice, I had an absolute blast in Nicaragua & wicked cheap too! - heaps to do & see on flat days in the region.

If you're referring to water temperatures, don't expect warmth in LA this time of year. Water temps high 50's right now, doesn't warm up until spring.

Central America is always a good choice. Panama & Nicaragua are less expensive. CR has many options.
