when you make a wooden double foiled fish fin, as a glass on, do you just like make a point on the front of the fin tapering it on both sides, and leave it flat for the rest of the fin, or taper it down again on teh back. Im confused.

Double foiled refers to that the fin is shaped on both faces, like a longboard centre fin would be. The difference being, if you took a regular side fin such as an FCS or similar, it would only be foiled on one side, with the other side kept flat. An FCS CENTRE fin is foiled on both faces though.

And yes - you want both the front and back to taper in.

here we go - these photos are taken of a South Coast Retro Slide. A readl old school twin fin fish shape. Beautiful board. The fins are hand made 8" keel fins and glassed on.

This first one is the view from above - you can see the double foiling as the fin is shaped on both sides.

and is glassed in 10 oz Volan top and bottom - a heavy, chunky, fat, stubby, old school retro twinnie.

awesome, this stuff helps alot. They all have boxy rails for volume right? not much of any edge on it?
