Are you always in the water?
Is surfing your passion?
Want free stuff for riding waves?
We are looking for surfers that are serious about the sport and who want to get free stuff for doing what they love.
If you think you have what it takes then let us know your story. We want cool stories, something original about why you want to be sponsored. It also helps if you have a 'sponsor me' video but we can get to that later.
If you have a cool story or just think you have what it takes then send us an explanation and include your full name in the Subject Line to - sponsorship[at]gitsum.com

Really? You provided no clue previously.
I'm an engineer that surfs and include my identity and location in my posts. I also enjoy this forum frequently enough to see a lot of posts from countless kooks, scammers, and spammers. Now I know you are not one of them.

I want you to sponsor me... I suck BTW. But would be nice to give up the day job to take up a career as a proper surf bum. You won't get many great shots, unless you have a really, and I mean REALLY talented photographer.

I think I'll get on board too.
Here is my CV , I am so old there is no longer a surfing demographic in sales for surfers of my age. Kelly Slater has been shaving his head for a while to come close to entering this demographic.
I am barely computer literate.
but I do know how to post links.
I have a mantle piece full of trophies from troll hunting.
I surf softly and carry a big stick but not as big as Roy's.
Please send me details of your bank account complete with withdrawal rights and I will promise to keep it clean from filthy cash.

I'm Scott Johns and i surf the great lakes, i moved to Rochester NY from Fl. 15 years ago where i left the surfing seen behind me until just recently i discovered they surf the great lakes. i got in with a surf club and then the addiction was back. I've always been competitive and so i joined the ESA and surfed two contest this fall where i placed 1st and 2nd in the battle of the great lakes.this weekend i have to redeem myself and take 1st place at the battle of the great lakes 2.I surf freezing waters with ice chunks, snow covered shores and wind chop conditions not to show off or compete but because i am a surfer and like they say "only a surfer knows the feeling". I made it into transworld surf this fall and who knows how far ill take this.i don't know how to attach but you can email me at
landonscott6@gmail.com or check out some of my pics on facebook

How about SUP Chris...for a middle age, balding, 2-4 times a week sup-er I do way better than most!! Some say I rip. I really try not to toot my horn....but get ready here come a toot.....I was told by one guy that it was between me, Laird Hamilton, and one other dude as the best guys in our area....another guy gave me a shirt from his shop when I got out of the water one day in Oxnard!
I would be happy with a Lambo (could be used, but mint condition) and a steady supply of new sup's and surfboards to try.
Send me a PM with your offers

Hey Chris hope this helps in a review of who you would want under your banner of Apps.
Due to my skills and talents I have to sort through so many offers for my time these days.
I am open to all business proposals, please send me a PDF resume of the benefits of your product, a cheque for a minimum of $120 per hour to consider your offer would be appropriate , however I will leave the judgement of the amount of time needed to consider your proposal to you ( what could be fairer) as you know your own product.
Sending me a PM was a nice heart warming personal touch, but in the interest of that political buzz word "transparency" I thought I would post my reply here so that your intent can be shared.
Many a corporate head has come unstuck through insider trading and failing in their duty of care,
So i have to ask these questions
Did you PM anyone else?
Are you aware of the size of my personal fan base that you could access for your app?
What are you prepared to offer for the leverage that fanbase would give your product both for the numbers of that base and the networking that would pass beyond there.
Please submit your proposal in PDF form via the PM facility of SW for due consideration, submit the appropriate tax information for your jurisdiction, and we might be able to consider business.

Hurricane, if you have good virus protection, you can always check out their website and form your opinion.
I think it is a load of unnecessary bumph, why because what ordinary surfer needs a fan base
If you are a top sports star you build your fan base by your performances.
As I understand it websites like this generate income from advertising base on the number of hits and sometimes smaller fees for those who base themselves on it.
Not sure how a person looking to gain fans would make money though.
There are some on the forum who could use it for commercial purposes ( fair enough) but I personally limit my internet appearance to very little. Not a tweeter , I have very limited facebook, one or two forums that interest me.
I think the overall take by those who have responded so far would probably be what a lot readers would think!

I am sorry you feel this way. Whats the virus protection comment however? If you want go check out youtube and see my stuff on Saturday Night Live, how I sponsored Paddle2Live (also on youtube) or The Doctors television show (or the over 18,000 media outlets sites I have been mentioned in over the last 18 months like the LA Times, OC Register, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, OC Business Journal or CNN to name just a few).
In addition to the 19 athletes/celebrities I have done this for thus far, I am already in the process of working with 4 ASP Ranked surfers... and Taj has one available right off his FaceBook page so yes surfers are getting involved! When I develop the video game(s) with your liking in it, allow fans to get immediate access to your swag and increase your social marketing exposure (anyone looking to generate a revenue surely knows that every Facebook 'LIKE' provides over $130.00 in money spent PER LIKE... google it!) AND get real money from every download... it works!
I am not here to get blasted by anyone! I am a recreational surfer (Old Mans is one of my favs) out of San Clemente... I am an ordinary surfer and you're very right I have no need for this. BUT an established surfer or even an up and comer who works very hard to get their fan base going based on performances (as you said) gets a chance to make some revenue that's theirs, brands them and their images/name with the worldwide public, attract new sponsors and much more!
Again, sorry this isn't for you.
Chris

There are no worries in this for me Chris.
I understand about likes etc. we get so many sham offers I visited your site and it is definitely something for a person trying to establish a professional profile.
Me, I'm just an old fart surfer and I give an awareness point for people to consider no more no less. In the end how they work with social media is fully their choice!
Your argument here is more cogent than other stuff presented and I agree that pro surfers should be rewarded every step of the way , Why because often they haven't had the time in their development to have any other career path.
Oh

and the virus protection comment, I have investigated a number of spurious sites (which yours is not) and my program has picked the presence of virus, and mal ware!
It is a bit like saying "practice safe sex".
One thing that you have done that spurious sites have not done, is come back and answer my statements clearly, that goes a long way further than being invisible.
I wish you luck as you have put your money where your mouth is and it looks like it could be a good venture!

Jaffa I think I will listen to you on this one. I will stick with the sponsors I have, thank you Pilot Surfboards and Hurley, I will earn my fans rather than exposure from a lame advertising company. No offense intended.
