Short Board to a Fish

Hello, i am new to surfing and was wondering if a fish tail board like the channel island fishcuit would solve my problems. I started surfing a couple months ago on a 6'3 short board and today i snapped the nose off maybe 6 inches down from the nose. i have had trouble catching waves and standing up (once i stood up i was fine). I am 5'11 and weight almost 140. Would a Fish like the Fishcuit be a good choice for me if i want to stay with a small board but be more stable and easier to learn on. I just feel like a fun size would be to sluggish.

Thanks

I can tell you what my son Kevin did when his shortboard was still a little to difficult. He got a 6'6" Randy French fish that was really wide and stable. This was what he needed as a grom to progress his surfing to the next level. He now rides a high performnce Channel Islands shortboard. I can't promise the same for you, but if you want to say with a shorter board, a fish will be much easier than a standard high performance shortboard. Try to get a fish with a full wider template (outline of board). Good luck!
