Lugging your surf gear around

Hey guys...

I recently got myself a decent car with roofbars! which is great for me because it finally means I can go surfing at weekends and not bum lifts from friends that might be going. Anyway... I'm thinking new car, new gear and I really need to get myself a decent bag to stick my wetsuit, towel etc in. Only thing is, the bag I have at the mo is totally wrecked and stinks thanks to shoving wet stuff in it all the time.
My fella has this really cool Dakine bag with a wetsuit pouch which seems to do the job for him. Just wondering what you all use to haul your stuff to the beach? any suggestions and links would be a great help.

I usually carry two bags with me, when going..
First of all, i anyway have a sports bag, in which i carry my usual stuff like glasses, wallet, etc..
then i have an overboard bag (http://www.over-board.co.uk/waterproof- ... -bags.html), the 12 liter.. this is where i put all the wet stuff in.. its waterproof, so it wont leak into the car, its sturdy and comfy to carry.. works perfect for me..

Why blow a load of money on an expensive surf brand product? Here's what I use. Functional, waterproof, just needs a quick rinse after use and is totally odour free.

In theory a great idea but sadly, half of our boot is gonna taken up by a box a which I kinda need to keep in there. Looking for a backpack/rucksack type thing to just throw in. I kinda like this - http://www.blackleaf.com/Caribee+Rucksa ... lp7314.htm but could do with something a bit bigger. Maybe I'm gonna have to do with a duffel.

I use something very similar to this, great for keeping your car boot dry and you can squash it down before you seal it to save space. also because they are airtight they keep the smell in no matter how long you leave your kit to fester, not that i don't immediately rinse my wetsuit when I get home obviously.

just pop the hose in the top of the bag and rinse away.

I ended up going with the Caribee bag in the link, just been away with it and was pretty impressed. I was a bit worried about my wetsuit stinking out and the bag smelling too but I just wiped it down with an antibacterial flash wipe and it came out really clean and smelt good too. Was surprised how quickly it dried out as well so it didn't knacker my wetsuit.
I did like the idea of the box for the boot but it was easier to have a bag I could just sling over my shoulders and head out elsewhere after the beach. Cheers for all the recommendations anyway guys! x

I've got to agree, the box is useless if you don't travel by car.

I just use a Tesco bag for life (the blue one) and take my normal uni rucksack. Doesn't leak, is just the right size and is nice and cheap.
