what did I do wrong???

Postby zachsurfhall » Fri Sep 09, 2011 7:14 pm

so today I was having a great session in Devon in a little cove that not many know of and this other surfer comes in and sais hey and we were both laughing together and as he was paddling out from his last wave I caught one,, I was riding and about 2 seconds in, I was getting quite close waiting for him to duck but he just sat there so I had to do a pretty sharp turn to avoid the guy and accidentally sprayed him as a result and I said "sorry mate" and he didn't acknowledge and took the next wave in.

This left me confused and now I feel quite bad. who was in the wrong.

That is terrifically unlucky. However personally I would never rely on someone to duckdive out of my way, I would never take the chance of running someone over; so by my book I guess that would put you in the wrong, he should have moved out of the way though.

I would say he was in the wrong. Its his responsibility to get out of your way once you're on the move (although obviously you shouldnt rely on that).

In my neck of the woods, the spray to the face would be the minimum standard response - so in answer to your question: nothing.
