Roof rack?

I'm planning a surf weekend camping trip with my girlfriend but have a problem. I have a small car, a peugeot 106 and I use rhino softracks on top to carry my 8ft minimal surfboard. There is not enough space inside the car to carry a tent and everything so I'm thinking of how I could tie it to my softrack along with the surfboard. Is this advisable? There are some inflatable softracks available which can take camping boxes, but I'm not sure whether you can strap a surfboard to it as well? Or maybe I should just invest in a metal roof rack? Whatever rack I get, it has to be strong. Since my car is short and my surfboard is long, I have to position it so the tip of the nose is flush with the windscreen to reduce drag and stop it lifting up. If I don't, no matter how hard I tie it, it always seems to lift up, so whatever type of rack I use would have to be able to compensate somehow for this problem, allowing me to either position the surfboard as I usualy do (tail sticking out the back) or being extra strong and stopping it lifting...all whilst being able to carry a camping box on top.
