Surfing Waves

Hi there,

I may be moving from south africa to turkey, istanbul, for work next year but I'm pretty upset about leaving surfing behind I saw a few posts from years back saying u cud surf in istanbul and around??
Is the surf good? Would I be able to buy a board or would I need to take one with? Is the water cold all year?
I'd appreciate some advise,
