Surfing Waves

Hey. I am a researching newbie. I do research for our extreme pro sport site but have found a real attraction to surfing in particular. I am looking to get my feet wet early summer of 2011. The closest destination seems to be So. Cal. I live in Washington State. Can anyone help with an ideal location for my family to vacation near a great 'private' spot? I'm not down with mega tourists watching while I'm learning. Any recommendations? I appreciate any help!!!

You need to become more proficient in research, RhondaRay75. The surfing season in California, especially in SoCAL, is in Winter. There isn't much surf in the Summer.

Another research tip: while not completely improbable, it is not likely that a surfer will identify a "private" or "secret" break to a complete unknown on the internet.

I'm sure WA state has a bunch of great breaks. drive up and down the coast looking seaward. you'll find something.
