Hey ho, it's Queensland for you get yourself a Wicked van along with the five thousand other would bees and head to the Superbank or Byron Bay, warm mellow waters, some sharks, the locals are such great surfers they don't need to be friendly unless you're a woman then OK. Surf Chauvanism is alive and well
You will not be singled out for aggression because there is safety in numbers ( as per any shoal of bait fish).
Bali is a good option supporting their local economy, again safety in numbers, and there really are some mellow waves there,
not as safe for inexperienced in water skills but plenty doing it.
Don't know about Morocco or the numbers there, but there has been reports of some fairly serious localism with violence.
I suggest strongly you read and take on board the rules of the road so to speak so you know what to do to avoid stink eye and other unpleasantries.
Bali and Australia have surf schools, I'm of two minds about hem but at least you will get some supervised learning.
BTW where are you based as some learning before you go would help greatly
