i almost started shaping.... its kinda hard, you need to buy tools and have the room to do it... otheriwse, get fiberglassing 101 the movie, and shaping 101 the movie.

do the movies actually help you alot? Like can you learn from them at all, like better than you could from a website or something, are they not just a complete waste of money.

You can shape in your own backyard, all you need to do is order the blank, get fiberglass resin and a few tools like a sander and your all set. Gets kinda expensive, for your first board thats about 6', youll pay 400 for all materials, then mabye 200 every board.

damn thats cheap. even for a longboard, if you could make a really good one youd save like £500 on a new good longboard. and you could decorate it how you want. thats so cool. im going to do on ethis winter with my bday money. ta.

yeah its cheap but i dont think its easy to do especly when it comes to glassing ive been thinking about making one for a while, read swaylocks ive learnt alot about surfboard design from there the last few months

i thought about buying just the blank shaping it my self and seeing if i could get some one else to glass it for me, the thought of riding a board i have made realy appeals to me but the cost if i screw up doesnt lol
