BUT i want to be surfing like every weekend or every other weekend. She suggested i find a group. ( i can't find a group in sugarland or houston tx) But the thing is i want to go surfing more times then a group would go surfing. So i need some ideas of to how to get around this!

Sounds like you need to make some surfing friends. You can go into some of the surf shops in Galveston and tell them you're looking for a surf club or women's group. You might also contact the entities identified below and tell them you would like to make some surfing friends and/or join their club.

Yeah, friends will help.
When I was without drivers license, I had a trusty surf bro with a beater car....but he was always there at 5:30 tapping at my window....thanks Luis!

The other thing is take your mom with you...maybe she will be more comfortable when she sees you are capable and will make good judgments with the ocean.

Might not make mom happy but you could score a surfer boy friend...kill the companion and the lift in one shot.
Good luck
Keep the stoke

Hello Guys,
This topic remembers me how hard it was for us to start surfing in Morocco during the late 80's, not only we had very few equipement, but they didn't let us get in the buses with our boards, and i was suggest to become a sharck biscuit by my parents, as it was easier to pack the sponge in there car on sundays to go the beach.
Thanks to go, it didn't happen, and we found a sollution, to own a board without parents get aware of (leave it at somebody's place) and hide the boards while the bus stops (as he want do if the driver sees one) then jump into it. Who said that surfing was an easy decision to take, but i can ensure you that it's the best thing that i ever did. and i did quiet few things other than surfing
