Weird Swell Season!!!

Have been at my wits end this season... so much so that I nearly bought a kite! I like so many others rely on the spring/autumn swells to get my surf fix for the year. Winters are hit and miss at the weekend and too dark in the evening when I finish work. Summer's a bit of a write off except for the very occassional small swell. So that really just leaves a few months where I can get out regularly.
This winter has been abyssmal where I live (we normal get more swell than we can handle)... either no swell or huge messy howlin onshore. Made all the more annoying by reading about the epic el nino season nearly everywhere else has been getting. I am glad that someone somewhere is getting waves and that you folks in Cornwall have been having it good but can't wait till things get back to normal, or better yet, hope the summer is a bit abnormal.
Anyway, found this article by Tony Butt while trawling the interweb trying to make some sense of it (also while going off my bleedin biccy). So for those interested:

Quite long but definitely worth the read. Just hope its not a permanent change (always a possibility with climate change etc.), not living here that long and really starting to like the place, would hate to have to move again so soon!
