dont you need something thicker than a 2.5mm in the UK?
The only thing i noticed that different from a surf brand wetsuit and a dive wetsuit, is that the dive wetsuits dont really have as much flexibility. I bought a 100 dollar wetsuit from bodyglove and it had areas around the shoulders and stuff that was really soft and flexible. Also, there is probably no batwing if you want one

i surf in portugal quite often and even in the summer i usually wear a 3mm full suit, for winter/spring you would probably need a 5/3 or do what i do and wear my 1.5mm top underneath the 3mm to give you added warmth. as a dive instructor i can tell you that dive wetsuits will not give you the flexibility you need to surf with, they are designed for maximum heat retention not manouverability. also any dive wetsuit that sells that cheap is usually not worth anything, poor stitching and seams cause water to flush through and not hold any warmth. with wetsuits, you get what you pay for, go cheap, expect cheap quality. long story short my friend....stear clear and go for a brand youve heard of at a midrange price. you dont have to buy the most expensive but dont go for the cheapest option.

Only wetsuit worth buying is one you've tried on and it fits properly. The best wetsuit in the world is useless if it doesnt fit.

Thanks everyone! I ended up buying a quicksilver wetsuit today for 89 euros - it was down from 140 becuase it was the last one. Thanks for replys though, I recon it would have been a mistake to buy a cheap random make one.
