I've seen people wearing T-shirts on sunny days as added protection from the sun, but what about windy and cold days? Since it's still cold at this time of the year, will a
surf t-shirt help to keep me warm, or are they as beneficial as a wet blanket?

i think you will find that a blanket will get wrapped up in your leash or around your face when catching waves, not very practical at all. perhaps a jumper would be best, maybe goats wool.

you need to wear t-shirts that promot automotive repair shops from New Jersey, USA, for maximum warmth.
seriously when it's cold, I wear a sleeveless rash guard shirt under my wettie. That works very well

No T-shirts will not provide warmth, you need some neoprene!
T-shirts are silly to wear in the water to begin with, they hold too much water, you need rash guards. And for warmth you have to have the rubber-neoprene!

Cooling by evaporation - if its wet and can evaporate or get wind blown dry then its cool - good in the heat, deadly in the cold and wind - end of !
Also Tees get wet, saggy and baggy - lots of drag in the water !

Wait till Billabong, Quikie or RipCurl bring out their version of the Snuggie. But yeah a T-shirt will probably make you colder.

Lot of people use t-shirts here, plus you even have t-shirts made with UV protection just for surfing. Usually people use it to not use sun protector and stuff, but we're all kinda darkier here so we don't need that much protection.

when I lost my rash guard I used t-shirt to keep the wax out of my chest hair...I think they started getting popular when Slater wore one in a video in the late 90's. Every thing looks cool when Kelly does it!
