protecting cracks

hi really need advice, got a resin8 with few chips and cracks i been told it water tight but would like to put some thing over it just to make sure it is, would i need resin or glue etc, please help before next swell arrives,

I use clear two-part epoxy on small cracks and white two-part epoxy on larger cracks, dents, and dings. With the former, I don't do anything to assure smoothness. With the latter, I'll lay food cling wrap over it or use a damp finger to smooth it. I'll sand it, if necessary. I'll use 200 or 400 grit to knock it down fast. Then I'll finish it off with wet 600 and/or 1000. Obviously, it is important to allow the clear to cure completely before going to water and allowing the white to cure before sanding. Smoothing the white with cling wrap or wet finger is done after about 1 hour of curing. Oh, frequently the clear epoxy I use is 5 minute.
