havent been surfing for very long got me new nsp 6,6 short board saturday at Newqey got on ok, but thats beside the point. Is it me beeing inexperienced or just plain dumb as what i have noticed during surfing at Fistral is. When i go to paddle out (mind you it was well bussy saturday) their is alway someone surfing a wave in, but the frightening thing is, is that they are heading straight for me, only at the last minute desiding to bail but buy that point if they them selfs dont hit me the board usually does. Not saying it always happens but it just strikes me if there isnt a clear way through just wait until their is i know i do.

try and find a channel or somewhere where the waves arent breaking. or you could go into the white wash that they have already passed and duck dive it.

This is a problem for surfers no matter who you are... the one surfing the wave or the one being hit. My best suggestion, as soon as you see him, if he is heading right towards you, and you might just get by, blast as fast as f*ckin possible over the wave, he should, turn slightly to give you a bit more time. If you dont think you can make it, hang back, paddle back even if its going to be close. Again, he shoudl turn a bit to go past you faster. The key though is communtication, tell him your going to try to get over the wave, or tell him that you gonna hang back, and kinda wave him on.
