hello i have just sold a surfboard and need to post to England from north Scotland and have a few questions
1-will parcelforce take surfboards
2-what is the weight of normal surfboards (average)
3-it has 3 fins can these be removed for posting
4-also sold was a surfboard bag would this do or would i need additional packing

ps the surfboard and bag/case was sold on ebay but i dont know if links are allowed
also im not sure of the make as it had lots of writing on different parts of the board and i cant weigh it as its somewhere else and the buyer needs an answer on post

link away, hard to say about much of that without kowing more details.

Can the fins be removed? possibly, usualy.

How much does it weigh - how big is it?

I would send it in the bag with fins removed and some buble wrap around it (inside) espeicaly the rails/tail.

hawkwind - you can post anything if you pay for it !

Wrap it so it's bullet proof dude 8) !

Wrap it good because the carriers do not handle stuff gently – it’s a business – in the van and off to go ASAP – boom  !

ok its a 6ft 3 board, FCS fins/system

You can remove the fins with an FCS fin key, basicaly a little hex key, dont cost much... remove before posting.

I guess the weigth, in the bag, with some bubble wrap to be around 6-8kgs.

30 bp (around $48 for my compatriots) may not cover your shipping costs, even for a relatively small board, at least not if you are including cost of packing material. Most companies and ebay sellers charge $50-100 US, with the majority being $80-100 US.

Of course, things may be significantly different for your locale. Pack that board as well as you can, best of luck!
