San O: Nude surfing?

There is a New York Times story today about health benefits of nudity (http://greeninc.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/ ... -vacation/). The only intersting aspect of the story is the photo caption that reads, "A naked surfer on San Onofre State Beach in California." The photo is provided below. I simply did not know there is nude surfing at San O. Can anyone confirm or deny?

Yes... I surf San O all the time, as San O goes (Old man's / Dogpatch / etc.) the answer would be NO it's a state park and banned but head a lil down south at San O there are areas known as trails and they are marked trail 1 thru 6 and the famous unmarked trail 7 (not on the map) and it is a clothing optional. Trails offer overnight camping and of course trail 7.
