Has anyone here ever surfed a River? I hear the amazon has waves that carry you for like 5 miles, its one of the most popular surf spots in Brazil. Im just wondering if anyone has done anything like that, sounds cool. I plan to when I get out of school.

What about piranas? I would imagine wiping out would be miserable.

The Severn Bore here in the UK is always crowded... do a search some funny films out there with all the peeps piling on the wave... its carnage!

I went to Brazil last summer, we swam in a river that we previously went fishing for pirahnas in, and was also full of alligators. The only thing we were warned about were the chicks who were wearing red toe and nail polish...so if your gonna go for the amazon, leave off the nail polish for a day and you should survive. good luck!
