Surfing Waves

With how popular surfing has become in the last 10 years, I occasionally look back and wish it was like it was when we were all considered social misfits by the establishment and the main stream media. Sure I love being apart of an open-minded, non- judgemental global community that makes up the majority of the surfing and non-surfing worlds of today, but I reckon it would be empowering to be a bit of a rebel,missunderstood and even feared and knowing that you were into something pure, untainted,healthy so much fun. What do you guys/girls think?

it would be cool if it wasnt the trend. or "the cool thing" to do. it would be less crowded :)

yesh it would be. And there wouldn't be people who had one lesson and thinking their bad ass calling you a poser because youve surfed all your life.

lok'din got it, im kinda saying that people now think that its cool to surf, so people that only really care about popularity and stuff will want to because they think its cool, then people like me who surf but don't really say anything about it when someone finds out theyre wow what a poser, you probally suck, and only because you don't pay 60 dollars for every shirt you have, get what im saying now?

the real are always misunderstood .the others play catchup.so I don't care if it gets popular.if ya think you can paddel out when it's real I invite you to try I love to watch.cuz when it's real most of the wanna be stay on the beach.when there willing to paddel out I give em props.the ocean don't play favroites you and anyone can be crushed at any time,or taken. the strong prevail.if it's in you heart she'll mold you .if ya pose your playing with big bussness so come get the real or be scared.

Probally because they think their good and stuff, and or mabie beacause they find it fun and don't think other people are good enough to have fun surfing... I duno... Its probally a popularity thing, you can't be cooler then them. I really don't have a clue why, but I just know they do.
