Oh yes it is...got in today, kooks and drop ins aplenty. what a load of shite!! first of all started ok, 2ft summer slop, almost every wave i got i was dropped in on by either a beginner or a kook. next thing, drop in, crunch, ripped out fin (brand new fins, 50 quid, lost in the sea). not going in now unless theres a decent enough swell which makes some secret spots work where no kooks will be so i can have a decent session and save myself 100 quid.

Don't suppose my cheap FCS tri-fins from my busted Cortez mini-mal are any good for you are they? If so I can post them over. Let me know.

.....and the time is right, for dancing in the street (wooo)
One of the advantages of living in a place that isn't known as a surfing destination, I suppose, is that the tourists here are more interested in taking up parking spaces, drinking in the overpriced tourist bars on the boardwalk, getting sunburned, and chasing the tourist women.
Went out Saturday, and couldn't find a parking space at the pier, so went down to my usual spot, the Cross, and had no problems finding parking, and had a nice session as the only one out in the water. The waves weren't great, but it was a beautiful day, and not having been out in nearly two months, I had a great time.

Last time I went surfing, I left the kids 1km down the beach, making sand castles, looking after the truck, and kept an eye on them from the lineup. There wasn't anybody else for about 2km's in either direction until the local farmer showed up on his quad bike to see what was going on and to have a chat. That was on a bank holiday too.
If you don't like crowds, just move. There's plenty of space in the world if you go looking.
