Wooden Board Building

I'm thinking about building a wooden longboard and i stumbled across this website - www.woodsurfboardplans.com
Has anyone got any experience with the book he sells? All looks very good on the site, especially when you look at the 'customers boards' section. But i'd prefer, before buying, if someone could tell me if it's ACTUALLY worth the cash...
Also, while i'm still here, does anyone know of any other sites/books etc, that would be good for me considering it's my first build?
