The Day that Got Away!!!!

Hey all

For those of you who don't know (remember), I live in the middle of England at the farthest place from a beach possible. My friend lives on the beach in Bournemouth. In December, he sent me this pic to make me feel sick.

This has to be the cleanest I have EVER seen Bournemouth!

The only thing that makes it OK is that he had a nasty throat infection and couldn't go in either!!

Sinista!

You UK surfers never cease to amaze me. How you go surf when both air and water are freezing cold is beyond me. I tried booties and gloves a few weeks ago and felt like Bozo the Clown, trying to pop up with big clown shoes on. They went right back in my dive bag. Thank God you don't really need them here.

My hat is off to you. I couldn't do it.

sinistapenguin are you sure you live the furthest place away from sea in the uk? Im only saying this as I live near bletchley (offically the furthest place away from any uk sea) hence why the enigma machine was there (german bombers and all that riff raff). I actually live in Leighton Buzaard and get the train into bletchley for college.

This location is a right bummer for someone who wants to start surfing  . Plus its a shithole

Hey Chris

According to the Ordnance Survey, it's in Church Flatts, Derbyshire:

I live in Leamington Spa (about 10 miles from Meriden, which also lays claim to the 'Centre of England'). If we take the O/S rule, I beat you in the stakes by about 50 miles!! (not that I'm a competitive person! :D :D :D )

That said we both live way to far away from the surf!!
