Wrist issues...

So getting out of the white water, i push down on the tail of my 9'1 to push it over waves....works effectively and i don't think i could do much better to be honest. But the only thing is, the wrist on my right hand, the hand i use to push down on the tail, is majorly messing up; i can't put a whole lot of weight on it anymore and i'm not sure what i should do. Obviously, i can't stop doing what i'm doing really, but should i start wearing a support sock type thing when i'm not surfing????

I do wrist curls with weights to build up my forearm strength. You could wear a support whilst you are surfing, might help. Best thing to do is get it checked out by a Doctor.

change the technique for getting the board and yourself out the back. if it's really shallow water (shin-thigh deep) and it's small, just lift up the board over the whitewash. if it's a little deeper (hip-shoulder deep), and still kind of weak/small just paddle your way through it. paddle through the flats, and sprint when you come up to the whitewash, you'll kind of pop over it. if the water is that deep, and it's a bit bigger/too strong, turtle/eskimo roll. grab the rails, roll over, let the wave go over top of you, and roll back on top
