sand at boscombe

Postby getting creaky » Mon Jan 19, 2009 8:18 am

Now that ASR have jumped ship once again and headed off for more $$$$$ in yet another foreign place, is there going to be any sand left on the beach when they return to restart the Bournemouth reef in April? And who pays if the wind has blown it away?

i get the train most of the time thinks dearer than boscombe to park its ok not all that busy but think thats because of the cost of parking.

Surfed Bournemouth Wed pm and was good. Both sides of pier. I was crap again. Got out back easy enough but just kept pearling so cut my losses and surfed just in front of break and managed to get a few good reforms and a second hand green face.

Parking is about £1/hour. Give us a buzz Essex. I'm free all weekend so can even go west if needed.
Oh yeah, used that other car park again and watched someone get a ticket. They patrol that place pretty actively.

As for the sand, well looks like the council is having to pay for some more to be dredged

Thanks tree4. Poor ratepayers. This won't be the last increase. Was it ASR who quantified the economic benefit?

poor ratepayers

you are unfair to the reef builders thats what ratepayers are for its called accepting a better offer to take their money

oh beware of geeks bearing gifts or boiled sweets /perfect surf for grommets -if its too good to be true ..... it usually is.

prattes reef california ....... to be removed

Meades reef Mt Manganui .. removal pending

blacks reef opanake ..........begging to be completed so who knows if it has to be removed?

Weights reef Bournemouth .........begging to be completed .fully funded ?? on the basis of the outstanding track record of the above.

Kovala reef India .............tsunami funding available up for grabs that will get anyones interest ahead of failed real estate ventures in global meltdown conditions on the seashore in bournemouth

space city reef florida - umm blow up on the launching pad -- wrong fuel in rocket

if it wasnt all the one person doing all these one would wonder but why dont each of these people talk to each other to avoid the same mistakes -is the surfing reef industry that competative that they keep avoiding each other all together?

wavepool florida ... blimy dont ask --geeks bearing gifts left the building with a little more than they gave ... maybe?
cocoa beach reef florida .. brevards county officials show bournmeouth councilors how to sort fact from fiction and find that 0.33 is returned in the life of the reef over its cost -only 100th of what the geeks claim in their sale spiel of "knee high waves to overhead tranformation on a scale of five when pipeline is eight for double the days double the size all year round ( but not nights)

Dont get me wrong as I'm no meaning to sound skeptical just like global warming is up for debate all of the facts and figures above may be due just to the fact that I am a non-believer or not yet converted .

google bargara reef and it cost pittance and behaves poorly (hardly any days in the year with swell) the plans are available for free as is expert advice from the excavator driver -who says do it at the lowest tide of the year and wash the salt off the excavator after finished. patent free -no snake oil, performs reliably poorly due to lack of swell -but no head hits on exposed rocks at the closeout point. some would say a waste of money -but really it was only a few hundred dolars to build so sue the architect who draw the plans

oh have a big bulldozer waiting standbye on shore if a wave splashes water ino the air intake movng the rocks

the funniest thing about the place is the local fat policeman who surfs there with a picture of a pig dressed up as a policeman on his surfboard - drop in on him and you get booked on the way home -so true you had better believe it he hides in the carpark waiting for you to live. The law will always win

my fee for this consulting fee - 5 million pounds thank you -up front :) swiss bank account of course with unmarked bills

I like what you are saying, but it may be easier to read if the grammar was better. A little punctuation, proper line spacing, etc.
