Man I know! Imagine not having to hop out a wetsuit in freezing rain!?! I'd miss that.
Wait, they don't have wetsuits.............but they do have better waves, weather, boards and facilities than I'm used to.

Seriously though it makes me cringe when I see a piece of string used as a leash, tied around a bare ankle. I was almost crying one day when my leash tugged my ankle awkwardly, all I had for protection was the thick neoprene on the leash, my winter wetsuit leg and my 7mm boots. Agony!

Tough life for the kids in that area, but that has been going on there since the end of the first world war. Before that, that part of the middle east was all owned by the Otterman empire under turkish rule. Then the europians took the area over during the first world war and split it up. Giving an area to the libians, an area to the Jews, an area to the other Arab nations. But they all got greedy and each one wanted it for themselfs. Not many people know that : )

since you posted this link I have DEVOURED everything I can find about this film and he making of it. It seems to be such a Zeitgeist idea and really appeals to the part of my brain that constanly wonders what other lives i could be living right now if i had just happened to be born elsewhere.

I cant wait for this film

Over in the Philippines we have a home built in my mother's hometown on an extremely remote part of one of the islands. It's not exactly like from this film, but it hold the same concept. The children and people there just don't have the lavish things that we have the opportunity of obtaining. When I see the kids over in the Phil surfing, I see real soul surfing. On one of the islands I saw a group of like 8 kids sharing the same board, surfing in the clothes that they wear every day. Those are experiences I will never forget.
It's all over the world. This film is going to amazing.
