Hope all those in socal are keeping an eye on this swell developing for saturday onwards looks like a biggie. If the power sticks its gonna be really big and with those 20 second periods its gonna have a wallop to it. Either way looks like we are gonna get something that resembles winter swell :D

Hopefully i can nab some footage but i recon im gonna do a lot of surfing after a dismal winter thus far everyone should be fired up for some decent size and quality. I hope we all get some waves of epicness 8)

.........waiting patiently.

I do say Ventura has had a ripping Jan...but Dec was small.

I have a weekend escape planned at the end of the month I hope the surf gods cooperate.

Does anyone else have butterflies of anticipation dancing in their stomachs? I do.

(wave watch report)Saturday and Sunday the new WNW swell (275-300 with most of the energy around 290-300) will peak. Look for average spots to build into the chest-shoulder high+ range with some head high sets. Standout NW facing breaks in Ventura, The South Bay, and San Diego will have surf in the shoulder-overhead range with sets going a couple of feet+ overhead at times. There will be plenty of waves throughout SoCal but you are going to have to stick with the best exposed winter spots to see the biggest wave heights.

not a size thing, just 80 degrees and slight off shore winds combined with solid swell....I love it when a plan comes together.

i have been watching the forecasts closely from several diff sources. Im looking at a solid 6ft min surf for saturday through monday but standouts might genrate a couple overhead+ sets. One or two forcasts were being very optimistic with sets peaking at around 12ft but i doubt it so my mean average suggests 6ft+ good conditions and good weather. Ive been antsy all week anticipating this  The only downside is its all going down on the weekend so certain spots are gonna be rammo but if you know your breaks you should beable to find some that are easy on the crowd factor.
