Polzeath . .expensive parking

Just a heads up for you guys.

I was at Polzeath yesterday (7th Dec) and as I pulled up to park on the beach the car park attendant was busy applying a penalty ticket to a VW Golf estate. £35 fine minimum if paid immediately.

The parking fee during winter is 50p for 2 hours. Which is peanuts.

Don't risk it guys, they do work Sundays and will prosecute.

I was down visiting the TUBESTATION there.

Yeah, I caught my first proper clean 2ft wave where I actually came down the face of the wave from the top to the bottom and it was all silent until the wave broke behind me. I was so stoked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was if time stood still (for all of 1.5 seconds). I was so excited I let the wave take me too far in to shore but the paddle out again was easy. After that, I only caught crap. But it was worth the 6 1/2 hours driving for the 1 hour in sea and that 1 wave.

Parking in Bournemouth is £1/hr ($1.50/hr) and we don't have anything like the surf you have at HB, so quit whining.

And come the spring/summer. the charges in Polzeath will rocket.

LOL the biggest parking hassle I have is trying to find a 4wd track to get to the beach and then hoping a pissed off seal doesn't chase me off it

Can't say that I miss uk car park fees one bit.

there is free parking at polzeath, ill pm you if you want to know where it is?

not going to post it on here for all to see, its hard enough getting a spot there in the summer without more people knowing about it

Yeah I'd appreciate that please. But I now have friends at Tubestation so I can use their private car park if there is space available. But a a second option would be nice Phil.
