Blyth NE Coast UK?

Has anyone surfed at Blyth beach before?
I quite often go there but have never been in the water because no one else is in there!
I have seen the beach with the tide out and its a pretty good beach, no rocks and stuff and great clean waves most the time. I am just curious why there are no surfers there.
Would love some feedback from anyone.

Never surfed there myself but have lots of other places nearby, so perhaps when its on there are just better waves to be had nearby.

But to surf an empty peak is heaven so next time jump in and have it all to yourself

Yeah the waves look perfect there.

ive heard it gets good surf. never surfed there myself as i never got round to venturing that far north before moving to swansea for uni. empty is good though. unless its empty for a reason. (ie too big too messy or some hidden danger) but if its just sand there should be no problem. like northswell said it could be just that there are better breaks in the immediate area that people surf.

not surfed there but have seen some nice waves there when i didn't have my board with me. when blyth is working though, most other beaches are also working and we don't get as many surfers as you do on your side of the water.

but yea i would go in at blyth if i had my board and it was empty

yeah i live in whitley bay and surf blyth if the conditions are right.
On a good day it can go of, with someone i know once got a 5 second barrel.
Conditions are good, the break is abit weird though, its a long paddle as the waves break far out on a far out sand bank.
However last time i was there i surfed the shore break at about 7ft.
If you keep going down on good days youll b sure to find people in, its advantages are its uncrowded.

however tbh your better of battling for decent waves at longsands or eddies.

its a good place to go when other places arnt working cos the swell is too big or blown out with a north wind

Hey did you get waves last weekend?

what weekend we talking about? the start of november or end of october?

i got some the weekend thats just been (november) although everywhere was a tad messy because of the northerly wind although good enough to surf the sheltered spots. but the last weeekend in october i went home as it was my bads birthday.

I meant the weekend just gone. I just looked at the swell map and not the wind map. Just checking what gives good swell on the east coast really.
