Surfing Waves

Hi..

I'm in the process of developing a new portable camping shower for my final year project at uni. As well as campers i believe that it could target the surfing market.

I would appreciate it if everyone could list the features that they think are most important for a shower unit for surfers, either existing product features or features you would like to see.

to get the ball rolling here's an example:

1. Pressurized water
2. Warm water
3. Wetsuit cleaner attachment
4. Compact
5. Battery Powered
etc etc.

or if you like, list the problems you have when showering after surfing.

I've been using those solar shower bags when i'm out travelling in my van, from experence gcreating and using said bags/mock up shower etc compact and pressure do not go together unless you have mains pressure.

Obviously Warm water would be the main attraction to me. I usuall take a plastic bottle filled with hot water nd then wrap it in the towel. After a session its just the right temp to wash down and flush the suit thru as you change.

If you where to develop such a product that encompass all of the factors you've listed I think it would end up needed to be aimed at a wider market of water users/travelling people.

uhh...am i the only one who doesn't shower right after surfing? if there's a shower at the beach access, i'll rinse off my board and wetsuit. but if not, whatever. i'll rinse out the wet suit with a hose when i get home, but other than that, i could care less. the biggest problem for me though is cold water. just make it lukewarm at least

Aye I only rinse my kit after a surf with the bottled water.. only ever used the solar shower when travelling.

warm would be nice and im guessing quick to put up and take down, i dont think i would bother if it involved more then the time it takes to get changed and in my car warming up just ot set it up.

In the winter when it is cold, a flask with warm water. Down the neck of the wet suit warms you up. As for a shower after a surf in the summer, if none on beach, then i wait till i get home. Washing my met suit, i keep a plastic bucket in the van fill it with water from a tap and give it a quick rinse.
To be honest a portable shower would not interest me.

If it came with a nice blond to scrub my back I would be willing to pay more

From whats been said, the important features are:

Has to be something that is easy to set-up or ideally requires no set-up time.
It should feature warm water.

So how important is pressurized water? I mean whats peoples preference when it comes to showering? would you prefer a trickle flow like when using a solar shower, or something a bit more substantial like that found at home?

How important is it that you can wash out your equipment before its put away or stored?

What about hands free, would it be important that you had both hands free?
