Just wanted to bid an online farewell to all the cool nights I have had out surfing since I took up the call of the ocean this summer.

I have finally had to admit that going surfing after work was no longer a possibility even with my waterproof headlight.

such a shame.

this means that I'm going to be down to once a week or less, it really saddens me that this is true and Im worried I will forget all the stuff I have been picking up.

grrrr
England...why you so dark!!!

Second that emotion Phil, I'm out of the country (Africa, but nowhere near the sea) for all of October, I come back the day the clocks change and am not looking forward to the the shock of temperature/daylight difference. So I we just have to pray for those weekends when all the conditions are right and bite our lip when all the weekday surfers say 'you should have been here yesterday mate'.

Still a possibility for another couple of weeks if you finish work at 5 and the tides are right. Still hopefully the sat & sundays will have better waves than the summer mush.

However you conditioning will go to hell,,,might I recomend some laying down bellyside on something ellevating your body and simulate paddling with some 2-5 lb wieghts (OOPS SORRY!! I mean 0.9 kg to 2.3 kg ) dumbells and allso do lot's of off the floor popups.Pray hard that the days you get to go have real surf if not,,,, don't matter still great to get out and it's real conditioning.

hehe and grrrr in equal measure.

sadly I finish at half five, then its a half hour commute to the town where I live to grab the board (boss says no to boards in the boardroom...and i thought that was what it was there for) finally a hours trip to my nearest reliable break.

sucks.

on that note can any NE yorkshire surfers tell me if the other beaches pick up come winter (other then scarbs) might help if i can get ot somewhere abit closer to me (Beverley)

i was told that the coast line near you, skipsea and down, does pick up some decent swell, its very quiet and has a strong side current apparently....keep a beach marker

that was from a local shaper who i bought a board from a while back.

cheers
ian
